Religious Education

Humanities includes Geography, History and RE and these subjects are taught through careful planning, cross curricular links and a well-resourced scheme from Aurora Academies Trust. History and Geography are taught for one hour a week each half term, alternating with each other. RE is taught weekly, every term.  Teachers plan for all sessions with an ambition for pupil retention of key facts which are mapped through knowledge end points, and practical skills from skills end points for each year group. These will be carefully considered when medium term planning to promote accelerated progress. Progress is monitored through the use of pop quizzes and thinking squares which are completed at the beginning and end of each topic.
